Koperasi Usaha Maju KL Berhad (Komaju), a co-operative registered in Malaysia, intends to set up an agricultural and agritech fund with Spartan Ives Capital in the capacity as a limited partner. The agritech fund will also be known as the Durian Gold Fund among the members of Komaju. As suggested by its name, the Durian Gold Fund’s main portfolio will be based on durian plantation activities and related technology research, development, and application, such as zoning of maps and plantation terrain using drone and satellite real-time imaging.
The main objective of the fund is, among others, to generate better investment returns for the members of Komaju. The underlying assets of the fund would be physical gold bars issued by Komaju. The target fund size will be MYR 180,000,000, but the fund may increase gradually over time.
